For Self-Publishing Services
1. Introduction
By engaging in our self-publishing services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
2. Definitions
Services: Includes developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, cover design and layout, content formatting and layout, and ePub version for Amazon Kindle upload.
You/Your: The individual or entity engaging our services.
We/Us/Our: Refers to me (Elizabeth Galit).
3. Services Provided
Developmental Editing: Examines your manuscript's structure, plot, characters, and overall narrative to enhance the story’s core elements. Turnaround Time: 4 to 6 weeks.
Copyediting: Focuses on grammar, punctuation, and style consistency to enhance the clarity and professionalism of your writing. Turnaround Time: 2 to 4 weeks.
Proofreading: Conducts a final review to catch any remaining errors before publication. Turnaround Time: 1 to 2 weeks.
Cover Design and Layout: Collaborates with you to create a visually appealing and marketable cover. Turnaround Time: 2 to 3 weeks. Downpayment: 50% required upfront.
Content Formatting and Layout: Ensures your manuscript is professionally formatted for both print and digital reading. Turnaround Time: 1 to 2 weeks.
ePub Version for Amazon Kindle: Converts your manuscript to an ePub format compatible with Kindle, meeting all technical requirements. Turnaround Time: 1 week.
4. User Responsibilities
You are expected to:
- Provide necessary manuscript files and information promptly.
- Adhere to agreed schedules and deadlines.
- Respond to queries and provide feedback within specified timeframes.
5. Payment Terms
Methods: Gcash, BPI
Schedules: Downpayment of 50% is required upfront for Cover Design and Layout and Content Formatting and Layout, the rest can be paid after each service has been completed.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Mid-Project Cancellations: If you cancel in the middle of the project, you are required to pay for the work that has been completed up to that point. For editing services, this will be calculated based on the number of words edited. Half of your downpayment for Cover Design and Layout and Content Formatting and Layout will be refunded.
7. Confidentiality
We commit to protecting your manuscript and personal information. We will not share your data with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain rights to their manuscripts. We retain rights to any tools or templates used in formatting.
9. Liability Limitations
We are not liable for any issues that arise during or after the provision of our services. You are responsible for reviewing all changes and ensuring the accuracy of the final manuscript.
10. Revisions
Clients are entitled to a maximum of three (3) revisions per service. Additional revisions may incur extra charges.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration, as agreed upon by both parties.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines
13. Amendments
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. You will be notified of any changes.
